MOD Pizza is a fast-casual pizza restaurant chain based in the United States. Founded in Seattle, Washington, in 2008, MOD has more than 400 locations in the United States and the United Kingdom. MOD is a company that is claimed by its owners to be "more about the people than the pizza" and to focus on paying living wages and providing employees with opportunities to give back to the community.

Karen L. from San Francisco wrote a review for YELP about her bad experience at MOD Pizza: I ordered pizza to go. Turn out the pizza has moles and was cold as if it was a store in the fridges for days. This my first-time order from pizza mod. I will never come back again. Ewww who the heck want a cold pizza with moles? This is disgusting... if I could I would give zero ratings. Do not order online. Make sure to check your pizza!!!!! I hate the pizza mod in the federal way!!!

Tell the world why MOD Pizza sucks!

Former Employee - Mod Squad Member says

"Toxic to employees that are leaving. HORRIBLE COVID procedures. Did not feel safe in regard to the pandemic. Felt as though my health and life was at risk when working there during the pandemic. Did not provide employees with masks & did not inform employees of the requirement to wear a mask. I received a 2nd-degree burn on the dough press and was told to "put a slice of tomato on it, you'll be fine" by my manager, I am now left with a permanent scar. Coworkers were hit or miss. Different managers had different expectations. Managers were not kind to employees and there was a power struggle hierarchy. Managers would talk poorly about employees in front of other employees. Managers would encourage other employees to make fun of their coworkers and speak poorly about those who were a little quirky. Not enough training. High expectations by managers for employees who were not trained properly. Employees and managers would pocket tips. Impossible to get a raise unless you were a part of the "in crowd" with the managers. Provided me with 2 shirts and I had to beg for a 3rd but would get scheduled 6 days in a row..."

Former Employee - Food Service Worker says

"Turn out rate is high especially with management. Miscommunication is a running theme. No respect for hard work."

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says

"Very baised towards Managers, Toxic to squad that are leaving, General Managers and assistant managers are not professional, Hours suck very long and painful shifts, Only allowed 1 $0.25 raise a YEAR"

Team Member (Former Employee) says

"Apparently I got shafted in working for MOD. Management is terrible and there is zero feeling of belonging. Don’t expect to receive any training, but be prepared for management to degrade you for not being up to their ridiculous standards. Everyone is out for themselves and too focused on a paycheck to care. They really need to be more conscious of who they promote. Be wary of how nice they are to your face because it’s a ruse."

Line Server (Former Employee) says

"I could say about this location, but this store is full of drama and negativity and also The gm will not enter people’s hours just to be mean it’s sickNoneAvoid this location by any means"

Pizza-maker (Former Employee) says

"Was not happy of that job because they put me work hour is at least 2 to 3 hours for 2 to 3 days a week and I was asking for work everyday as equal other employees but that manager was not doing good and awful attitude. So I was searching another job until I found a good pay job then I resigned MOD pizza as well"

Shift Leader (Former Employee) says

"MOD pizza is a very up beat and fun environment to work at but they aren’t always fair with how they treat everyone i feel like maybe they should do a little more digging before promoting employee from different positions"

Team Member (Former Employee) says

"Was just thrown in there with no training and expected to be perfect. The hardest part was if you are new to fast food you will get lost pretty fast and have to ask for help."

Manager (Former Employee) says

"General manager literally didn’t care about employee life both inside and outside of work. As a shift manager you’re expected to work until 3 in the morning to close the store. Then drive back in the morning to open. General manager asked me to clock out and keep working so he would keep labor low to receive his bonus for the year. Run as far away as you can from this place. Almost every employee I worked with felt the same way"

Team Member (Former Employee) says

"This place is trash. Manager was never there. If the captains didn’t like you you got fired for no reason. Overall a bad place especially the one on airport blvd in mobile al. dont even waste your time.noneeverything about this place is trash"

Pizza Maker (Former Employee) says

"My least favorite job. My first manager disliked me immensely from day one so I was stuck with the tasks of others and was ostracized. Very little pay even at 18"

Squad Member (Former Employee) says

"The managment of this company, particularly the Wentzville, MO location is so shoddy that it may as well be nonexistent. The managment routinely complains about how little they care and one manager even blatantly said that as long as he's happy with scheduling he doesn't care if his employees have issues. In 2 years, I got no promotions and $.50 in raises and was lied to about being promoted several times as well. Advancements are made based on bias and the entire environment is saturated with cliquey attitudes and cruel behaviors. Myself and several other employees were made to cry on MULTIPLE occasions during our shifts, verbal abuse is thrown around abundantly, and the managers claim to be hands-on, but often spend rushes sitting in the lobby, doing their paperwork that could be done a couple hours later in the downtime, which they spend goofing off and taking 30 minute smoke breaks."

Captain All Star (Former Employee) says

"Management never punishes anyone, even if they are sharing extremely personal HR issues with the rest of the staff Manager at my store (Oracle and Wetmore in Tucson, AZ) was the least communicative person that I have ever worked with. He made the work environment terrible every single day and wouldn't work with his "Captains"(Shift-Lead managers) Management punishes you for taking days off Management forces you to work on all of your days off, as if you were on salary. The amount that I worked didn't even get close to equaling my pay The manager will put clean dishes on top of trashcans and does not truly care about quality, only how much money the store makes Mostly everyone that works there just wants to leave, except the management that is getting away with treating employees badly and constantly spreading negative facts about the staff behind their back. Manager will frequently place blame on Captains if something isn't done after he told you that he was going to get it done. Hardcore favoritism, using the worst Captain as a sounding board about how terrible everyone else is If a specific captain wants to force someone out, she will write negative reviews online from fake accounts and spread so much negativity related to them that they will be forced to leave I literally cannot put into words how terrible my experience was. The manager and a specific captain created the most negative work environment that I could possibly were decentAll listed above"

General Manager (Current Employee) says

"The company is very hypocritical in its approach to managing the restaurant. The inexperience of the managers often comes through when having to deal with issues. Finally not receiving two consecutive days off gets really tiring over a period of time."

General Manager (Former Employee) says

"I worked at Mod Pizza for three years and got terminated as a general manager. I got little to no support from my district manager being set up to fail. MODs values and what they stood for was amazing when I first joined the company. It didn’t feel like a company more so a family. They used to be generous with the community and now for every $10 pizza they will donate .50 cents of that to “spreading modness” however in the past they would donate 50% of the order to the cause and community. Now it just seems all about the money to them. Do not work here they claim they are a second chance company but will find any reason to terminate you and play favorites. Blood sweat and tears were shed throughout my MOD journey all of that to come to an end because of my racist and sexist Boss."

General Manager (Former Employee) says

"mainly criticism & negativity minimal training & follow up trusting the store to "kid" team leaders is a mistake - no work ethic yet the responsibility falls solely on the GM who should not have to be on call 24/7 unless the pay is much better"

District Manager (Former Employee) says

"Mod tells a good story, but that’s all it is a story. Regional leaders were so disconnected with the field employees that their expectations were laughable because they simply didn’t get it. Do yourself a favor and run while you still can."

Captain (Shift Supervisor) says

"They preach that they’re a family oriented company. Saying they care about their employees but all they care about is how much money you can make them."

Shift Manager/Trainer (Former Employee) says

"After 2 years at my store, I quit because of gross incompetence from the district manager and subsequently, my GM was fired. Upper management does not give a darn about anyone below them. There is ZERO job advancement past Captain. GM is basically a pipe dream. Horrible place to work, awful work/life balance. You do get a free pizza every time you work though."

Crew (Former Employee) says

"Lack of management experience, unprofessional leaders, promised hours that are never there. There is no form of communication so your hours, and avaliability will be ignored. The store has no form of direction, and if your signed up as full time you probably wont get it which is 32 hours anyways."

Shift Leader (Former Employee) says

"Management is very bias. If your not a “favorite “ be prepared to lose your job or hours cut. This company is run by amateurs and is a waste of time!!"

Squad Member (Former Employee) says

"Place is a peace work, they promote favoritisms, you start off with 20 hour or less a week and you only get hours if your “buddy-buddy” with the managers... interpret that however you like."

Crew (Former Employee) says

"They decided they didn't like me and then fired me for something that didn't happen. I would not recommend this place to anyone for any reason. The food was decent."
